Course Description
This learning activity examines childhood obesity as a multifaceted public health challenge, providing registered nurses with evidence-based strategies for prevention and treatment across developmental stages. The content explores current epidemiological trends, complex etiological factors, and immediate and long-term health consequences while emphasizing innovative nursing interventions including family-centered care, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed approaches, and digital health technologies. Nurses will gain practical knowledge for implementing holistic, developmentally appropriate assessments and interventions while serving as care coordinators, patient advocates, and community health leaders in addressing this critical pediatric health issue through interdisciplinary collaboration and systems-level approaches.
