Course Description
This learning activity prepares school nurses to deliver culturally responsive, equity-centered care by providing practical frameworks for addressing the social determinants of health, navigating cross-cultural clinical encounters, and recognizing the influence of implicit bias on clinical decision-making. Drawing on current professional standards including the National CLAS Standards, the NASN Cultural Competency framework, and the Future of Nursing 2020–2030 report, the activity equips nurses with actionable tools - including the LEARN model, SDOH screening, and health literacy auditing - to more intentionally identify and address the barriers that prevent every student from achieving their full health potential.
