Course Description
This learning activity examines comprehensive hypertension management for nurses based on ACC/AHA guidelines. Thecontent covers evidence-based blood pressure assessment, cardiovascular risk stratification, and personalized interventions across the lifespan. Content includes practical strategies for implementing lifestyle modifications (DASH diet, sodium reduction, physical activity, weight management) tailored to diverse patient populations. Nurses will explore medication adherence barriers - including cost, regimen complexity, side effects, and health literacy - and learn effective interventions such as teach-back methods, shared decision-making, and care coordination. Additional topics address digital health tools, resistant hypertension management, and culturally competent approaches to reduce cardiovascular health disparities. This activity equips nurses to translate clinical guidelines into individualized, sustainable interventions that improve blood pressure control and outcomes across all practice settings.
