Course Description

This learning activity examines the nursing management of substance use disorder in pregnancy, covering evidence-based screening, harm reduction, and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) across the perinatal continuum. It addresses intrapartum and postpartum considerations, neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome assessment using the Eat, Sleep, Console model, and the application of trauma-informed, equitable, and destigmatizing care principles in clinical practice.
