This learning activity provides nurses with a comprehensive review of pediatric procedural sedation in outpatient and ambulatory settings, covering the full care continuum from pre-sedation assessment through criteria-based discharge. Content includes the pediatric sedation spectrum, developmentally specific physiologic considerations, risk stratification, special population management, sedation pharmacology and reversal strategies, capnography-anchored monitoring, emergency rescue readiness, and post-sedation recovery.
