Course Description
This learning activity equips nurses with evidence-based knowledge and protocols for caring for robotic surgery patients in ambulatory settings. Covering the complete perioperative experience - from preoperative assessment and patient education through intraoperative safety and postoperative recovery - the learning activity addresses the current competency gap among ambulatory surgery nurses. Based on current AORN and Joint Commission guidelines, nurses will develop practical skills for managing the unique challenges of robotic procedures, including specialized positioning effects, enhanced recovery protocols, and patient education strategies that address technology concerns while promoting realistic expectations and culturally competent care.
