This learning activity examines the role of nurse leaders in guiding the adoption of digital health technologies - including ambient AI documentation, virtual nursing, remote monitoring, and AI-enabled clinical decision support - into safe, equitable, and sustainable practice. Drawing on current research and real-world implementation evidence, the activity explores the competencies nurse leaders need to evaluate and govern these tools responsibly, the change-management and ethical governance practices that determine whether technology reduces or adds to nursing workload, and the legal and professional accountability structures nurse leaders must establish as AI becomes embedded in clinical care.
