Elevating the Heart of Long-Term Care

Long-term care is more than a setting - it’s a community, a calling, and a commitment to supporting individuals through the most enduring and personal chapters of their lives. Growing Together is a professional development program designed specifically for caregivers and nursing assistants working in long-term residential care. Through a structured monthly learning journey, this program empowers professionals to deepen their skills, strengthen connections with residents, and ensure every day delivers dignity, purpose, and compassion.

From the very first module, participants are immersed in practical, person-centered learning experiences that reflect the realities of long-term care. Whether you’re...

  • honoring resident preferences in daily routines,
  • navigating the complexities of cognitive decline, or
  • supporting the emotional needs of residents and their families,

... you’ll develop skills that transform routine care into enriching, community-centered relationships.

Topics evolve month by month to reinforce foundational knowledge while building toward advanced expertise, including:

Person-Centered Dementia Support
Learn therapeutic approaches that preserve dignity and foster connection, even as cognition changes.

Skin Integrity and Pressure Injury Prevention
Strengthen proactive care strategies that preserve comfort, mobility, and overall well-being.

Engaging Residents in Meaningful Daily Activities
Facilitate purpose-driven routines that enhance joy, connection, and mental stimulation.

Therapeutic Communication Across Cognitive and Emotional Stages
Develop trust and rapport with residents through all phases of their care journey.

End-of-Life Care and Emotional Support
Approach the final chapter of life with presence, empathy, and professional skill.

Each learning activity includes an evidence-based lesson and a 10-question competency assessment, awarding 1.0 CE contact hour upon successful completion. The content is concise, accessible anytime, and structured for busy professionals who want practical tools they can apply during their very next shift.

What makes Growing Together unique is its emphasis on the long-term relationship between caregivers and residents. Participants will explore:
  • How to adapt care plans as resident needs evolve,
  • How to preserve identity and independence through compassionate care,
  • How to navigate complex emotional dynamics with families, and
  • How to maintain resilience and professional boundaries in emotionally intensive environments.

As the year progresses, caregivers not only refine their technical competencies—they grow into trusted advocates, emotional supports, and pillars of community within their care settings. By the end of 2025, participants will have a complete toolkit for enhancing quality of life in long-term care. As 2026 begins, more advanced and specialized learning opportunities become available, guiding caregivers from foundational skills to leadership readiness.

Growing Together celebrates and strengthens the vital work of long-term care professionals. It provides the knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to turn every moment of care into a moment of meaning.
