Course Description
This learning activity provides an in-depth overview of gout, a complex form of inflammatory arthritis. Healthcare professionals will gain knowledge about the etiology, risk factors, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, acute management, and long-term treatment strategies for gout. The activity explores the interplay between genetics, diet, and comorbidities in the development of this condition. Nurses will learn about pharmacological interventions and lifestyle modifications for managing acute flare-ups and preventing future attacks. Challenges in gout management and the need for ongoing research are also discussed. By completing this learning activity, nurses will be better equipped to provide comprehensive care to patients with gout.
